Rules and Regulations

All C.A.B.O. games are played indoors and on full courts, one game at a time.
An entry fee of one dollar will be charged to adults only for an all day pass prior to entering the gym.
All teams must be present 30 minutes before game time with team rosters turned in 10 minutes prior to start of game.
Official high school rules are implemented with game clock, statisticians and play-by-play commentary.
The young men and women's age divisions are:  u12, u13, u14, u15 , u16 ,u17 & u19.
 

AGE CRITERIA: Players may qualify by birthdate only. There are no age or grade exceptions in C.A.B.O.  The Division a player competes in is determined by his birthdate ONLY.

Game locations:
All Winter, Summer and Fall 2008 games will be played at Madison Park school located at 1431 E. Campbell, Phoenix. (S/W corner of 16th street & Campbell). All games are officiated by AIA officials. Official high school full size Basketballs will be used. A regulation size intermediate ball will be used in all young ladies divisions.

C.A.B.O. offers an NBA style atmosphere with team player introductions to music, game commentary  and play-by-play announcing. There is an on-line Newsletter with  all game scores, team standings and game summaries.
 
The 120.00 entry fee per player includes 6 regular season games and a play-off weekend for the top four seeds in each division. Each player will receive a team jersey (unless team provides) and every player is fully insured. C.A.B.O. offers a Championship weekend with top four seeds qualifying for the play-offs in each division. An All-star weekend at seasons end includes an all-star game in all divisions and a free-throw, 3-point shoot-out and a slam dunk contest in the older divisions.

An abundance of awards, trophies and medals are awarded at seasons end with awards, medals and plaques going out in every stat category, coaches and sponsors etc.

Rules of Play: National high school federation rules apply to all Boys' and girls' age divisions.
 
Running Clock: At the time one team gains a lead of twenty(20) or more points on opposing team, the clock will not be stopped except for a time-out until the trailing team brings the point difference to twenty points or less. (10 & 12 and under divisions only)
Any team deliberately running up the score on their opponents will be disqualified from play-off competition and subject to immediate dismissal from further competition with out refund.
NOTE: The Play-offs are by INVITATION ONLY and NOT necessarily the top four (4) seeds. Sportsmanship is the main criteria.
 
Rosters: Team rosters will be limited to twelve(12) players per team but not less than eight. (team minimum fee is 1,200.00 with a buy-out option for the remaining open spots).
Each team must have it's roster filled and ready to present to the official scorers table ten (10)  minutes prior to game time.
NOTE:  Once a team roster is received with a set number of players, no additional players can be added during the course of the season for any reason what so-ever. Only two (2) coaches will be allowed on the bench. These two (2) coaches must remain the same throughout the season. Any substitute coach must be approved by the C.A.B.O. committee. ONLY ONE COACH IS ALLOWED TO STAND AT ANY GIVEN TIME DURING THE GAME.
 
Player Playing Time: Every player must get a chance to play in each game. Players missing practices, disciplinary problems and or health issues may be excluded from this article. This rule will be strictly enforced and each players' playing time will be carefully monitored by statisticians and staff members. Any disciplinary actions taken against a coach that does NOT honor this rule may result in play-off competition elimination and or team forfeit with NO REFUND. (This rule pertains to, however is not limited to the 10 and 12 and under divisions).
 
Birth records: Must be available upon C.A.B.O. committee requests.
Eligibility questions: Any questions pertaining to the eligibility of a player or team shall be directed to the C.A.B.O. league director for a final decision. Any ALL GIRL TEAMS  participating in a boys division can drop one(1) division in age and/or grade as to equally compete upon the C.A.B.O. Committees discretion.
 
ALL-STAR SELECTIONS:  Any All-Star selections must have participated in at least 4 regular season games in order to participate in the All-star selection process. No All-Star selections with a prior technical foul can participate in the All-Star selection process. Any Coach with a prior Technical foul or improper behavior towards the C.A.B.O. Officials will be excluded from the All-Star selection process. Tournament & All-Star weekends are separate from the regular season and are by invitation ONLY.
 
Length of Games: Two(2) halves of Twenty(20) minutes with a three(3) minute half time. Running clock. Clock stops for time-outs and for dead balls within Thirty(30) remaining seconds of the first half completion and Two(2) remaining minutes of the second half completion.
 
Protests: Protests pertaining to an officials judgment call  WILL NOT be considered. All Officials are registered with the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA).
 
Uniforms: All teams electing to use their own uniforms must have permanent numbers on both front and back (no tape or markers). The jerseys must be reversible. AIA rules will apply to numbers. Any number from 00 to 55 is permissible. If undershirts are worn, they must be either white or the same color as the jersey. All undershirts worn by a team must  be neutral. White, Black, Grey, or Team Color. These rules will be strictly enforced.
C.A.B.O. jerseys are included in registration fee unless otherwise agreed by teams with their own jerseys. FEE REMAINS THE SAME
Forfeits: Any team electing to forfeit a game with out a prior 24 hour notice to the League may result in disqualification of the play-offs and or remainder of the season. This team is also subject to a 1 game automatic  suspension/forfeit as imposed by the league.
 
Conduct procedures: The conduct of players and coaches should be above reproach both on and off the court. Any misbehavior or misconduct, on or off the court, will be subject to individual and/or team suspension or disqualification from the league.
 
Tie-breaker system: An over-time period will consist of three(3) minutes with an additional full time-out for each team.
